In 1978 the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) funded a Comprehensive Land Development Plan for Covington, Ohio. As a result many important recommendations were made to assure the strength of our community’s Retail, Industry, Education and infrastructure (Plan and Plan Summary below). Over the past few years, stimulated by Annie Harrison, the Covington Area Improvement Corporation (CAIC) has been meeting to determine what is needed in Covington to assure our Retail, Industry, Education and infrastructure have a strong foundation to assure a successful future for our community. The CAIC made a funding request to the Covington Village Council and the Covington Chamber of Commerce for an Ohio State University “Covington Area Strategic Plan”. This Planning Process started in March, 2008 and will include six community planning sessions, a trip to a similar village for observations, an anonymous visit from the similar village and number of follow up report reviews. |
All of these meetings are being held in the basement of the Covington Church of the Brethren The meetings are always at 6:30 PM and all Covington School area citizens are Welcome Meeting dates are March 25, April 1, April 15, April 29, May 6, May 20 |
